Keith Jarrett is one of the greatest musicians of all time, no doubt about it - ask anyone who knows how to play an instrument. He told those italians what they needed to hear. Of course, people who don't understand what integrity, respect or honor is will tell you otherwise - don't listen to them. God bless Keith Jarrett and his music, and that we through recordings and live performances gets a chance to take part of it!

Any virtuoso performer of Jarrett's status is emtitled to be sheltered from gratuitous noise and flashing cameras but the announcement should have been left to the producers. His foul-mouthed outburst must outrage all his fans and his patronising reference to the privelege being that of the audience displays not an iota of modesty or appreciation that his fans provide his very substantial income. Wonderful musician but a pompous git!

I love his music but he is an asshole. If he doesn't want cameras then he should tell the audience this politely (and obviously make it clear on the billing). He isn't just unprofessional, he's fucking rude. Jarrett, learn some manners, you jumped up little prick, and I might just give you the privilege of receiving some of my money in return for seeing you play.

I'm a jazz musician. Keith Jarret is just a neurotic prick. It's got nothing to do with understanding the music. He just needs to get over himself. It's an outdoor festival, not the opera.

um....he is a pianist, who gives paid performances. what do you mean he's not a professional piano player? I was at this concert. Jarret is a total ass.
