Who hasnt had Kitchen Envy at one point in their life or another? Well, maybe not so much for the men out there. Although, there are those male cooking goo roos that cook like gourmet cooking gods. What women wouldnt lay down and weep with pleasure when a man cooks a gourmet meal for her. I and women of the world applaud you men! These are the same men that would probably have the Summit under-the counter stainless steel Beer Dispenser and the Salton IceBox under-the-cupboard entertainment system. They really know how to show off. Okay, enough about the wonderful men in the world that cook. And the ones who are willing to learn.
Now, for us women with Kitchen Envy! When the green eyed monster slips into our kitchen there is nothing worse. Usually this happens after a planned visit to your friends house you havent seen since high school. You walk in to your friends kitchen just in time to see her making a cup of cappuccino in her shinny La Pavoni espresso/cappuccino machine. This is just the start of the envy for the day. Your high school friend serves you the cappuccino in of course nothing less than a bright red ceramic cappuccino cup from the Waechtersbach Co. in Germany. You came for the day for a visit but all you can think about is Kitchen Envy!! Your friend pulls out of her cupboard a Demeyere duraglide non stick pancake skillet. She is going to prepare pancakes. Perfectly cooked, Im sure not one of those pancakes will have to go to the dog.
You now regret saying that you would stay for the whole day. You will need to have a stiff lemon drop martini just to walk back into your own kitchen. Your friend informs you that she is going to make homemade ice cream in her new Nemox Gelato Oxiria Ice Cream machine from where else, Italy After the Ice Cream was done she started preparing lunch. Does this woman ever stop cooking? No and why would she when everything in her kitchen makes it easy and enjoyable. We enjoyed our gourmet lunch which consisted of shrimp fondue and fresh vegetables. Of course the fondue pan was a Berndes stainless steal fondue pot and the vegetables were stir fried in a wok from Swiss Diamond Cookware.There was also a bowl of fresh fruit which was placed in a Waechtersbach Ceramic Collection imported from Germany. Just about the time you think you have seen it all. You are offered a glass of wine from the Summit under-the-counter wine cellar. Which you very much needed at this point.
The Finale. Im visiting and watching my friend prepare a gourmet dinner in amazing time. Ive noticed that preparing and cooking can be a pleasure when you have the appropriate cookware. We had a roast cooked in a terra cotta roasting pan from Berndes Cookware, asparagus cooked in a stainless steel asparagus pan from Demeyere Cookware, red baby potatoes steamed in a Demeyere Steamer We also had homemade bread backed in bakeware from Berndes Bakeware.
Before the evening was finished my friend served the homemade Ice Cream prepared earlier in her Nemox Ice Cream Machine.
